Cerne Park, Cerne Abbas, Dorset

This walk starts from the picnic area car park in Cerne Abbas by going east across the fields and up through woodland at Cerne Park to the Wessex Ridgeway. It follows the Ridgeway north for about 1 km. then returns down Wancombe Hill and along a quite country road to the car park. Excellent views of the Sydling valley and the downlands can be seen from the Ridgeway.

See the detailed walk directions.

The 65 mile route of the Wessex Ridgeway was once part of an ancient trackway from the Norfolk to Devon coastlines. The Wessex Ridgeway starts at Ashmore and meanders across chalk downlands and river valleys to Lyme Regis.

Please check our walk preparation guide.
