Follow this walk for excellent views of the Dorset countryside and the River Stour. It follows the Stour Valley Way, along footpaths from Shapwick to Tarrant Crawford via the old Crawford Bridge at Spetisbury, one of the river's most famous arch bridges built in 1719. Just before you get to Tarrant Crawford church you will walk by the remains of Tarrant Abbey which was once one of the richest nunneries in England. The walk returns to Shapwick via a different route.
The Stour Valley Way is a 64 mile, waymarked footpath from Christchurch in Dorset to Stourhead in Wiltshire following the meandering route of the River Stour.
The Anchor @ Shapwick is sign posted off the B3082 between Blandford Forum and Wimborne Minster.
