Portland Bill, Dorset, South West England

Portland Bill is the southernmost point of the Isle of Portland which is famous for its limestone. Portland Stone was used by Christopher Wren to rebuild St Paul's Cathedral. Portland is joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach, a long bank of stones and pebbles.
There is a Visitor and Tourist Information Centre at Portland Bill, from which guided tours of the lighthouse are available. Opening times 11:00 to 17:00 (seasonal).
From Weymouth follow the signposts to Portland (along the A354) then follow signposts to Portland Bill. The walk starts from the Car Park close to the Lighthouse.
