Osmington, Dorset, South West England
Osmington is a small, attractive village close to the coast. Probably Osmington's most famous visitor was the painter, John Constable. During his time spent at Osmington, he painted the village, Osmington Mills, Weymouth Bay and Portland Bill. His painting of Weymouth Bay now hangs in the National Gallery, although it is actually a painting of Bowleaze Cove.
Osmington is on the A353 to the east of Weymouth. The walks start from the Village Hall car park off Shortlake Lane. You can get to Osmington by First bus via the CoastLinkX53 service between Exeter and Bournemouth.
Note: There is very limited parking available here.
