Martin Down, Hampshire, South and South East England
The Martin Down National Nature Reserve is an open area of chalk downland, heath and woodland. The down is rich in archaeology, dating from the Neolithic Bokerley Ditch to the Rifle Range used during the Second World War.
There are many footpaths on the Nature Reserve and you could easily walk 2 or 3 miles / 3 or 4 km just exploring the reserve. You could just follow the Bokerley Ditch for a while. This area is very popular with dog walkers but please keep them under close control.
Park on the Nature Reserve car park which is an the A354 between Blandford Forum and Salisbury.
